Chef Shaun Behrens Is Back & More June News!

We're thrilled to announce that Chef Shaun Behrens has returned to Luna Red!

Inspired by his grandmother’s influence, Shaun has been cooking since he was 14. As a 2001 alumnus of California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, Shaun chose to enhance his culinary skills due to the city’s diversity and culture. After graduating at the top of his class and honing his skills at several restaurants from San Luis Obispo to Santa Barbara Counties, Shaun headed for Portland, Oregon.

Here he found the turning point of his career while he worked at Higgins Restaurant. This is where he learned the philosophy of sustainability, preservation and scratch cookery. California eventually called him back as he became Executive Chef of Robins Restaurant in Cambria. In 2010, Shaun helped to conceptualize and launch Luna Red, where his seasonal menus offered an international array of flavors that celebrated the bounty of the

Central Coast. In 2017, Shaun left Luna Red to help open Blue Heron Restaurant in Baywood-Los Osos. Here he could teach his culinary skills and foster the perfect experience: grassroots cooking. After almost two years away, Shaun is back to apply his many years of experience, sustainable approach and culinary philosophies to Luna Red & we couldn't be more excited!

Jeremy Sole is on a mission to show how music is a singular universal language. His DJ sets, remixes and original compositions juxtapose world sounds and experimental beats into a sonic ritual - a celebration of life out loud.

Sole spent most of 2006 in the studio producing with Ms. Lauryn Hill. After hearing him mix, she asked if he had ever considered getting into radio, "because this is the music the people need to hear”.

Sole was also the last DJ to open for Ray Charles, deejayed for Sly Stone's birthday party, & was guest DJ at Low End Theory with James Blake.

Although Sole's DJ performance at Coachella 2012 played a large part in further embedding his name as a pioneer in the burgeoning "Global Bass" scene. This, by no means, defines his sound nor his "scene". He remains a free agent - moving fluidly between any and all cliques that appreciate good music.

Stop in on June 28th starting at 10pm to catch Sole on deck! No cover, 21+ only.

Americana singer-songwriter based in SLO, Natalie will be performing as a solo artist for Luna Red on Sunday, June 9th starting at 11am. Natalie draws influences from Bonnie Raitt, Patty Griffin, Grace Potter, Lucinda Williams and Robert Earl Keen. She creates her own distinct style, blending a mix of poetic lyric-driven songs with her unique style of country, folk and blues. Once you hear her, you won't soon forget her voice.
